Hourly rates
About your hourly rate
Price transparency
Price transparency means that all Buyers and Sellers who use the people4 sites will know your hourly rate.
The hourly rate they see includes our industry-beating 10% management fee. With such a lean management fee, the people4 sites are very attractive to Buyers of your services.
Flexing your rates
You can change your rate at any time, from your people4 homepage.
By signing in regularly, you can keep an eye on the rates that other Sellers are charging for comparable skills.
You can then decide whether to set your rate at the current ‘market’ level, or to reduce it to stimulate demand for your services.
Negotiating with your Buyer
The rate a Buyer sees when they shortlist you, or when you apply for their assignment via the job board, is the rate they are expecting to pay. Some Buyers may wish to negotiate your rate, particularly for longer-term contracts.
Remember, when you negotiate a rate for a contract the hourly rate the Buyer pays will include our 10% management fee.
Charity discount
You can set a special charity discount on your usual hourly rate, for registered charities.
Charities and non-profit organisations registering as Buyers on www.people4charity.com have access to the details of all Sellers registered on the people4 sites.
On your homepage, you can choose a percentage reduction in your usual hourly rate, for contracts with registered charity Buyers.
Any Seller offering a charity discount will have this icon
